Misrepresentation or ignorance?

The finalists of the 2015 Miss America Beauty Protestant were asked if they should cancel the family planning issue. Before you stop reading and decide that this will be an ethical/religious statement, please allow me to continue my title "Misinformed or Uniformed?"

As a 21-year breast cancer survivor, I was very dismayed to see a beautiful, talented young lady giving the answer: "I don't think the family planning funds should be cut off. For family planning. $500 million per year for women's care. It is used to screen for cancer. It is used for mammograms. And if we don't get the money for family planning, those women will lose health care for reproductive reasons."

I have been involved in the cancer community as a coach, consultant and prayer partner for others on their personal cancer journey, so there is some very strong point of view on the spiritual, political and personal aspects of what has happened in the past few months. about this issue.

However, in addition to this, Miss Tennessee's answer is completely incorrect. And, I think this is not true, not because she was misled, but because she and millions of other Americans choose to wear uniforms.

Has my interest reached its peak?

The first incorrect part she answered was when she said, " from

500 million dollars in family planning are given annually for female care.
from

"On the Planned Parenthood website, it says they spend 80% of their money on "services to prevent unwanted pregnancies." This includes providing services to men to make them infertile. This means that not only do women benefit from their services.

The second incorrect part reflects a major misunderstanding of the impact on family planning. " from

It is suitable for mammograms
from

For women who do not have health insurance or cannot afford health insurance at a local breast center, women in family planning are undergoing mammograms. In fact, there are very few mammograms during the family planning period. After conducting your research, you will find that they have revealed that most of the family planning/abortion clinics in the country do not provide mammograms. Instead, they outsourced mammography to a medical clinic, whose services include cancer screening. Technically, they are in the middle - why not fund these organizations from

If they are eligible for funding?

The last part of Miss Tennessee's answer is to play the part of our heart. "And, if we don't get the money for family planning, then these women will lose health care for reproductive reasons." This is a loud and clear battle across the country - however, this is a bold lie.

Regardless of whether another penny is given in family planning, women will continue to receive health care for their reproductive reasons. Family planning is not the only organization that performs abortion. It is also the only organization that provides "reproductive causes" to papsmears, mammograms and other cancer screenings for "those women". Miss Tennessee certainly refers to women who claim to be inadequate. Thank goodness - this is not true. Many small communities have alternatives to family planning, and there are multiple facilities in every major city across the United States to serve women who are unable to pay at their own expense.

In fact, you can actually help a vulnerable woman get a mammogram as simple as clicking on the link below: http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/clickToGive/home.faces? siteId = 2

Click on the "Click here - free" button and you will be able to give the mammogram gift to the person who needs it. When you're on the site, look around and see what else you can do to help.
