I like the post-apocalyptic novels, the darker the better. The first two books in Jeff Carlson's trilogy are not disappointing. Both books record the epic struggle of the world after the machine plague mathematics. I am eager to start the plague area, but life has been disturbing. When I finally opened the book, I couldn't put it down. It can easily be enjoyed as an independent story, but if you don't read the plague war and the plague year, you will miss it.
After the nanotechnology plague spread to the world three years later, killing all people living below 10,000 feet above sea level, humans barely survive. Cam Najarro and his wife, Allison, were pregnant for four months and lived in a small community in Colorado. A woman broke their periphery and found that she had a new plague that affected her brain, basically turning people into zombies. It was the only wish by the Chinese and nanotechnology researcher Ruth Goldman to find a cure. In the fight for antidote, she is worried that the end of mankind is almost certain.
Carlson's characterization is excellent, and the world's architecture is solid. He provides enough backtracking history to speed up the reader. If you have enough ability to read previous books, you will be happy to notice that your favorite, familiar characters will return. There are also new, new threats to human survival. This is a fast paced adventure and action, suspense - is a lot of excitement for romance. Readers can expect another round of page removal.
