Ergonomics of software personnel

Software professionals account for a large percentage of the young workforce in the industry. They often spend a lot of time working in awkward positions; have strict deadlines to meet, and are the most common organizations, they are as strange as being tired and unable to concentrate in orthopedic clinics; special diseases such as disc prolapse or Carpal tunnel syndrome.

The environment in which they live, the pressure they end at the workplace, and the psychosomatic illness you have are interrelated. Even the hiring authorities have to spend most of their money on medical responsibilities. Here, things that contribute to individuals and companies will certainly help to curb the cost map in the long run.

The role of ergonomics is beginning to work. It needs to be modified in the workplace environment to limit disease-related work. Common symptoms in this population include backache, neck and shoulder pain, lethargy, inability to concentrate, wrist pain and numbness, thumb pain, and elbow pain.

Let us pay attention to them one by one. Low back pain may occur due to acute injury or due to repetitive stress. Acute attacks usually lead to the collapse of the disc syndrome, in which the patient complains of several back pains caused by radiation along the thighs and legs. The history of weightlifting may or may not be obvious. Repetitive stress in poor posture during sitting can affect muscle tone and create dull discomfort.

The required modifications are - there is enough back and neck support on the office chair, the hips and knees are at 90 degrees, the spine is supported along its length, and there are lumbar and cervical lordosis curves. Neck pain may be similar due to disc damage or general loss of muscle tone. It can be corrected by proper neck stretching, intermittent neck stretching and isometric correction.

Another common complaint is pain in the wrist or thumb, or tension near the elbow. Wrist pain is usually caused by repeated pressure when typing on the keyboard. It produces oppression of the median nerve [carpal canal syndrome]. Thumb pain may be caused by tenosynovitis [De Quervain's disease]. Elbow pain may occur due to the lateral [tennis elbow] or medial epicondylitis [the elbow of the golfer].

All of these symptomatic complexes can be avoided or treated by modifying the position of the keyboard pad and the position of the armrest.

This small configuration helps the company reduce the burden of medical costs; and keeps employees more motivated in the workplace.
