By naming the country's top ten squid rivers, I am seriously getting out of the woods. I will no doubt miss some rivers worth mentioning. But when it comes to such a list, you have to choose the stream. If I don't put down your favorite river, I will apologize in advance. I believe these are actually not the ten best streams - there are dozens of remote Alaska streams and private squid water that may be better than either. But these rivers are easy to reach and offer great salmon fishing. These are well known streams, they will be crowded from time to time. Still, they are long rivers and there is room for proliferation. It's no coincidence that Montana is well represented on the list, it is full of long, beautiful trout rivers.
