Angel in the field

Darrell Rosenow was born to Mr. Ivan Rosenow and his wife and grew up in the Clay Center-Green area. He was a farewell speaker at the 1954 Clay Center High School Graduation Class. Rosenow holds a BA and MS in Agriculture from Kansas State University. In 1964, Darrell went to Texas A&M University to pursue a doctorate in agronomy.

During his time at Texas A&M University, Darrell worked at the Agricultural Experimental Station in Lubbock, Texas. When he received his Ph.D. in 1970, Dr. Rosenow was called ' Doc,' was hired as a long-term staff member at the experimental station. His work focuses on improving the growth of sorghum used in the world's developing regions and in the country. His research and experiments have led to the use of genetically enhanced grain sorghum for agriculture in the country and as a food to feed 500 million people internationally. ""

When Doc didn't go to work, he was spending time with his wife Beverly and their three daughters Becky, Kristi and Sheri. Darrell's love for softball...
