Why is cheerleading the most dangerous female sport?

A simple comparison of ordinary gymnastics and ordinary cheerleading training facilities can show the deployment of ordinary cheerleading training facilities. Many cheering projects have no specialized training facilities at all, and many have no or minimal equipment. This makes learning cheerleading skills more difficult, dangerous and produces inconsistent skills.

Perhaps the primary cause of high levels of injury is the prevalence of untrained and inexperienced coaches. It is not uncommon for a school cheerleading class to have only one teacher advisor and not to ask the instructor to have any cheerleading experience. This leads to jr. High school and high school age athletes are fully responsible for their training - obviously an unsafe situation.
