There are many different racing karts around. In the United States and around the world. Each of them has their own style and usage. I can't cover all of this here because there are so many, but I can cover the main ones you might encounter.
The track karting is mainly played on the oval track on the road. These are seen in the United States because road racing is more popular in other parts of the world. Elliptical orbits range in size from 1/6 mile to 1/4 mile.
It's a bit like a track kart, but these games are on the dirt. This is another thing for most Americans. Many weekend racers like to play on the dirt. The dirt road is almost always elliptical. In fact, I have never seen a formal dirt track, but it is possible.
Champ Kart is like the two karting cars above, but with a roll cage. The roll cage is basically its roof, but it is not a real roof, just some of the poles on your head can keep you away...
