"Save Tom Black" is an outstanding, entertaining Western novel

Jere D. James's Western genre has a new voice that is late, and his authors are destined to help rejuvenate the traditional West and help keep the spirit of the West alive!

Early comment on Jere D. James' first novel, from

[Moonlight Mesa Associates, Inc., 2009] is excellent, and after reading this beautiful novel, this is definitely the obvious reason.

Showcasing a series of unforgettable Western characters, from the lovely Betsy DuBonnet, a fugitive looking for her mother's orphan train, to Thomas Jefferson, a black porter, making friends with the girl and helping her disguise as a boy. He named Tom Black as a young, tough, newly appointed US deputy marshal Jack Silk. Their lives are intertwined in an unforgettable, remarkable way. In addition to this, there are a small number of secondary, very well-drawn characters, and beautiful books are orderly. And, as the senior critic of the Midwest Book Review, Shirley Johnson, commented, even these animals have a fascinating personality.

James has done a great job in telling this story, and there has never been a dull moment or a waste of words. His relaxed and excellent skills brought laughter, gentleness, tears and blood to the page. For those who like to act, there are many books.

James wrote this story, followed Betsy DuBonnet to the West, but armed with great courage to find her mother. Betsy disguised as Tom Black, with the help of Thomas Jefferson, was trying to buy a horse at a train station in Albuquerque, New Mexico, one of the early and extremely humorous scenes. People don't even need to know that horses can fully enjoy the subsequent hysteria, and readers will never forget Betsy's first night after meeting US Vice President Jake Silver.

One of the advantages of this story is that it is largely classic. Except for a few "damn" and "hell", there is almost no curse. Sexuality and sexuality suggest strict adherence to traditional Western standards, and in this case, LESS is indeed more. This book can be recommended for all ages [14 years and older] without any doubts. Although the author does not include Jake Silver in every chapter, he is only a chapter, and both Betsy and Jake are mentioned in their absent chapters.

The picture is beautiful and accurate, historical figures often appear or are mentioned, and the author skillfully incorporates these historical figures and events into the narrative. This book is really unforgettable.

The book has been reviewed by Midwest Book Review, Western Fiction Review, Marshall Tripble [Arizona Official Historian] and Steve Hayes [screen writer and Western writer]. All of these gave the book a solid, enthusiastic two thumbs. Other comments are expected soon, including Roundup Magazine and American Cowboy.
