Smart target set of nuts and bolts

Introduction

A few days ago I talked to a friend who was a successful life coach. He told me that he had asked a person what his goal was. Guy answered in the way you imagined, saying that I want this, that, I want to retire with so much money and so on. My friend asked what plans you have to achieve these goals. The man replied, "There is no plan, I just want to dream."

The important thing is that you know that a goal and a dream are very different, even if they look very similar.

A dream is like a wish, it only exists in your brain. This is what you want, but there is no action plan or real desire to do what you need to get your dreams. On the other hand, a goal may be the same as your dream, but it exists both in your mind and in your heart, and it drives you to do it. Your goal is your blueprint, your action plan to get your dreams. Your dreams are still a desire to have no goals, and become a reality when implementing goal setting. Then your dream moves from your mind to your heart.

After talking to my friends, as mentioned above, I decided to ask a little and see what people think about their dreams and goals. After talking to several people, I noticed some constant problems and misunderstandings. So, I decided to write an article to answer these questions.

This article will introduce the techniques for smart goal setting. It was created to answer some basic questions about goal setting. And help you get started with the goal setting right away.

What is the target setting?

Goal setting is an extremely powerful practice that will bring positive change to your life. It can help you succeed in health, sports, education, career, business, community activities, careers and relationships. It can help you improve any area of your life where you choose to implement your goal setting skills.

Mastering these basic but powerful techniques can make a huge positive change in quality of life by opening up what you really want in your balanced life. Your positive changes in health, wealth, relationships, spirituality, etc. are closer than the first step you have taken.

Why is goal setting so important?

The goal is your plan to succeed in any situation. Think of them as a blueprint, and no great architect or architect would break ground in structure without the first detailed project blueprint. If he does, he will definitely fail. To get the goal you want, you must know where it is before you start. Without this simple principle, we are stagnant every day because we don't know where we want to go or how to get there. Change today, stop stagnation or no plan and destination movements, and start targeting.

Where should I set my goals?

Remember, where you want to make positive changes in your life [large or small] is the area in which you should set goals.

Health - weight loss, diet, etc...

Community - career, volunteers, leadership, etc...

Relationships - parenting, friends, business partners, marriage, etc...

Sports - ability, training, coaching, mentoring, etc...

Education - learning, courses, teaching, learning new areas, etc...

Faith - spirituality

Anything worthy of positive change deserves a clear goal.

I hear people talking about long-term and short-term goals. What is the difference?

- Short-term goals - Short-term goals are the goals you want to achieve next year. These may be personal goals or shorter steps for certain medium or long term goals.

- Medium-term goals - The medium-term goal is what you want to achieve in the next 1-2 years. Again, these may be personal goals or steps to achieve long-term goals.

- Long-term goals - Long-term goals are goals you want to achieve in 2 years or longer. Long-term goals are often broken down into multiple short-term goals.

The first goal - how big should they be, what should I expect?

For us, anything new can be challenging, and goal setting is no exception. When you first start, it seems challenging, but it remains persevering, and the challenge will soon be rewarded in the form of achieving goals and positive results.

Considering your first few goals is a learning experience and starting small. Don't let yourself fail because you are just learning these new skills, but challenge yourself anyway. The growth of your personal development comes from overcoming the challenges that may have hampered you before.

How can I get started?

A good way to start is to ask yourself the following five questions. These will help your creative side to participate and you will start to see your goals formed. Keep this part simple, because this is an exercise that keeps your mind going.

What is my goal?
from

When can I achieve my prison?
from

How to better achieve my goals?
from

What is the first step to achieving the goal?
from

How do I know when I will reach my goal?

example:

What is my goal? My goal is to lose 10 LBS.
from

When can I achieve my goals? August 20, 2009 [total time 4 months]
from

How to better achieve my goals? I will feel better and healthier.
from

What is the first step to achieving the goal? Eat healthy and start exercising
from

How do I know when I will reach my goal? My weight is 190 LBS.

Let's take a quick look at this example.

What is the target area of life? Health, fitness or exercise.

Is this realistic? Yes, if it loses 75 LBS in a month, it will be the reason for the failure.

Will this person's life be better? Yes, they will feel better and healthier, which will lead to many other positive things like self-esteem and so on.

Does it have a plan? Yes, diet and exercise.

Does it have the end result? Yes, 190 LBS.

Now, as you further use the goal setting skills, your goals will have more detail. This is just an exercise that gives you peace of mind. When you answer these questions, please write your answer.

What is the smart way to set goals?

Many successful coaches use the SMART method to teach goal setting. I am no exception. The SMART method is a great tool for goal setting.

S - specific
from

  M-measurable
from

  Focus on action
from

  R-reality
from

  T-Time Limited

The SMART method is just one way to set goals. However, there is evidence that when specific details are recorded, goals are more often achieved, and detailed actions with implementation are realistic but challenging and have deadlines. In other words, the SMART method is working.

Following this type of goal setting will immediately begin to help other areas of self improvement, such as time management. We will discuss these topics more in future articles and courses.

Do you have any other skills?

Start a target journal. A target journal is a tangible content that your thoughts can relate to. Read your diary multiple times a day. At least once in the morning and before going to bed. Track your progress and mark your goals as you reach them. Change the date and details as needed. We will detail the target diary in another lesson.

Use an index card and carry your target with you in your wallet, wallet, briefcase, etc... This will constantly remind you why you want to work, study, exercise, eat some way or any possible way. This is just one way to keep you on track. The use of index cards is a good tip, but I still recommend more detailed journals along with this.

Stay positive, read positive books, engage in active conversations, and get help with goals if needed. Don't let frustration, fear, negative environment, people or obstacles hinder the way you really want. Persevere and learn to overcome your fears and obstacles. There are many resources to teach you and help you.

Use the target settings as much as possible. Small goals, great details and great details.

Write down goals for several aspects of your life. Don't limit yourself, you are great and can do whatever you want to do. Start now and put these ideas into practice. From now on, it is already accustomed to doing it. I plan to be the best.
