One characteristic that distinguishes life on earth from heaven is pain. It brings problems to humans and requires a solution. This problem is related to human desires. People's desires are often difficult and uncertain. If not impossible, and always short-lived, they need to be updated; it is destined to end sooner or later in death.
An extreme way to solve this problem is to eliminate these desires by separating yourself from the object while providing the body with minimal care or simply committing suicide. This detachment includes illusion or vanity to these objects. It comes from defeatism or mysticism. If life offers the possibility of fulfilling a happy activity and a glorious duty, then this consideration is immature or suspicious. Like suicide in this situation, it may indicate a pathological personality characterized by laziness and cowardice.
The opposite of this extreme approach is the foundation of modern civilization. It follows the stubborn attachment to the object of one's desires, such as health, happiness, mutual love and success. It also bears a stubborn effort to meet these aspirations.
Now, if you don't understand the world, including human nature or its operations, this effort will not work. It produces and ultimately meets the needs of science and technology in the broadest sense, an art that makes natural laws serve the interests of humanity.
In addition, it creates a sense of dignity, although errors and failures indicate an error. This feeling belongs to those who do their best to achieve their secular goals - in short, those who abide by this principle: strive to thrive. It is unique to a brave life, and it often struggles with difficulties and changes, never boring. In contrast, a peaceful and idle life or a quiet and happy afterlife [by definition of no desire, easy, painless, mineral-free] is fatal: perfect tedious.
If our ancestors collectively tended to abandon worldly happiness rather than pursue happiness, because such pursuits and sufferings are inseparable, humans will preserve ancient history in the soil. This will be a fossil that no one can see - no one except human beings will not lose the good or bad will of life like human beings, so it can be called a quality animal.
However, this advocacy of brave life is considered qualified. In a clear event, a person should suddenly become incapacitated and overwhelmed by illness or injury, without the slightest prospect of future recovery and satisfaction, giving up one's goals, sometimes even a person's existence. This will be a Reasonable choice. In fact, if this satisfaction does not exist in any way possible, the stubborn attachment to the object of one's desires and the stubborn efforts to satisfy those desires will be painless and useless, and therefore more stupid than bravery.
Similarly, sometimes the bravest fighters have to admit defeat and rely on their honour to leave the world peacefully through their bloody wounds. Assuming their last exit time is too long, a companion warrior may accelerate at their request, because a sure but lingering and painful death seems to be basically absent.
